ERA Interim Reanalysis - 6 hourly (2D + 3D data), 12 hourly (flux and precipitation data), monthly (2D + 3D data)
ERA-Interim is a global atmospheric reanalysis that is available from 1 January 1979 to 31 August 2019. It has been superseded by the ERA5 reanalysis.
The data assimilation system used to produce ERA-Interim is based on a 2006 release of the IFS (Cy31r2). The system includes a 4-dimensional variational analysis (4D-Var) with a 12-hour analysis window.
ERA Interim reanalysis covers the 1979 to Aug 2019 time period and it is intended to be a replacement for the ERA-40 reanalysis data. It is more extensive than ERA-40 in terms of the increased number of pressure levels and cloud variables are included. The data presented here are 6 hourly, 12 hourly, and monthly selected variables at the surface and pressure levels.
To convert the fluxes from [ J m**-2 ] to [ W m**-2 ] divide by (12*60*60) or 43,200 seconds.
